One final
Wayback.
After years of Wednesday nights, packed dance floors and live-to-air broadcasts, Wayback Wednesday came to an end on November 25, 2015. The broadcast began with DJ Marky D before DJ LiL Funky took over, carrying the live-to-air for several years and becoming an instrumental part of the Wayback sound.
Funky eventually stepped away to pursue other ventures, but when it came time for the final Wayback party, they called him back for one last set. He closed out the night with nonstop bangers for the final hour of the live-to-air broadcast. One last set, one last Wednesday, and the perfect send-off to an unforgettable era.

The story

Before LiL Funky, there was Funky Joe. A father’s record collection, a pair of Technics 1200s at age twelve, and a lifelong obsession with the perfect mix.
From Club 885 on Power 88.5 FM to the Midday Mix-down and several Live-to-air broadcasts including Palazzo, Paparazzi and Club Menage on Z103.5, his sound grew from Toronto’s airwaves to nightclubs, weddings and private celebrations in the GTA and around the world.
His approach is still personal: know your music, read your crowd, and make the night an unforgettable experience.
